Chapter Three: Downtime

"You just walked through the wall?" Zack asked disbelievingly.
"Yes," Christina replied. She had told the story over and over again, and was getting tired of it.
"Christina, do you think Lord Zedd is going to try to capture you again?" Trini asked.
"I hope not. That Dark Dimension place was creepy."
"Tell me about it. I've spent too much time there myself," Tommy said, clapping Christina on the shoulder. "Christina, I never got to thank you yesterday for restoring my powers. You're a great addition to the team."
"Yeah, I'm glad you're here, too. It's about time we got another girl," Kimberly added. "Trini and I were beginning to feel outnumbered."
"I think we're all glad you're on our side, aren't we, Billy?" Jason asked, elbowing Billy.
    "Affirmative," Billy replied, blushing slightly.

"This is so much fun! I'm glad I came," Christina laughed. She and Billy were at the dance.
Bulk and Skull entered the youth center. "Careful, Skull, the Power Rangers might be here. If they are, we're gonna find them!" Bulk said, slamming one gloved fist into the other palm.
"Yeah, Bulky, yeah! Hee, hee, hee, hee!" Skull agreed.
"Wait! Who's that with the geek?" Bulk pointed to Christina.
"Dunno, Bulk. I never saws her before."
Bulk walked over to Christina. "May I introduce myself? I'm Bulk, and this is Skull. And who might you be?" Bulk kissed Christina's bare hand.
"Christina Collins. Pleased to meet you, Bulk."
"Would you care to dance?" Bulk asked her.
"Sure, if Billy doesn't mind. Do you mind?"
"No, go ahead," Billy replied, confused. Bulk and Christina headed for the dance floor, and Billy turned to Jason. "Why was Bulk being so nice? It's extremely out of character for him."
"He touched Christina, so maybe his niceness was increased, or maybe he just has a crush on her. She is pretty good-looking," Jason replied.
"Affirmative. She is incredibly visually appealing, and is friendlier than average." A faraway look came into his eyes.
"I think you might have a crush on her."
"Maybe I do. I enjoy being with her, and I miss her when she's not around." He looked out at the dance floor where Christina was laughing and dancing with Bulk, not put off by his rather energetic method of flailing in beat with the music. When the song ended, she came back to where Billy and Jason were standing.
"He is so funny!" she exclaimed.
"Be careful, Christina. They're trying to discover the identities of the Power Rangers. We've had some close calls," Jason informed her.
"I won't say anything incriminating, don't worry." A slow song came on. "Billy, would you like to dance?"
    "I'm not very good."
"Don't worry, slow dancing is basically just swaying in time to the music. Come on!" She pulled him onto the dance floor. "You put your hands here and here. My ability is off now, so you don't have to worry about increasing." Christina loved the feel of Billy's arms around her. She leaned a little closer to him. He gulped, and held her a little tighter. Jason gave him a thumbs-up sign. "See, there's nothing to it," Christina whispered. She lifted her head to look at him. Their eyes locked, and ever so slowly, their heads came together, and they kissed, softly at first, and then deeper. The rest of the world disappeared, and it was just the two of them. When they finally broke apart, the song had ended. "Whoa," Christina breathed.
"Affirmative," Billy agreed. Jason saw the two of them together and smiled. He had known they liked each other - well, at least that Billy liked Christina - and was glad they had gotten together. He just wished that he could find someone to be happy with.
