Dark Ceremony

It had been nearly a month since Zedd's failed attempt to marry Jamie to Goldar. Since then, Jamie had burned the hideous dress and, with permission from Zordon, informed her mother that Lord Zedd--or Larry Zedden, as she had known him--was still alive. Little did Jamie know that Zedd was planning his next strike.
"The Green Ranger was to be my successor! That fool Rita loused up his awakening, though, allowing him to be subverted by that infuriating Zordon," Zedd fumed. "I have that Red Ranger to thank for that, as well. But he shall see. I shall return Tommy to the Dark Side and cement his claim to my throne by wedding him to my daughter!"
"It's a--wonderful plan, my lord, but remember what happened last time? What do you plan to do about the Red Ranger?" Goldar asked, relieved that he no longer had to marry Jamie.
"The Red Ranger won't have a say in it this time." Lord Zedd retrieved a small bottle from a nearby table. "This bottle contains one of the most powerful love spells in the universe. I'll use it on both Jamie and Tommy. While under the spell, they'll alienate Kimberly and Jason, making themselves susceptible to the Dark Power."
Goldar was visibly distressed. "Uh, Zedd, that's really great, but what about the White Ranger? She'll be able to detect and break the spell."
"Ah, this is where you are of service. You will go and...decommission the White Ranger so she is in no condition to detect, much less break, my spell."
"I shall leave at once," Goldar sighed.

Jamie and Jason were sparring at the Juice Bar. Once again, Jamie was besting Jason. "Tell me the truth, Jason," Jamie demanded, helping Jason up, "am I really better than you, or do you just like me throwing you to the mat?"
"I just like doing this," he replied, yanking on Jamie's arm so she toppled to the mat next to him.
    "Scoundrel," she smiled, kissing him.
"I try." Jason grinned at Jamie.
"Hey you two! Other people need to use this mat for actual practicing!" Tommy called out as he and Kimberly approached them.
"Really? Hmm, then I suppose we'll have to head elsewhere? My lady?" Jason offered Jamie his arm which she refused with a snort. "We'll get out of your way. I think I've had enough of her torture for one day." He squeezed Jamie's shoulder as he said that, making it obvious that he really didn't mind. They went to the bar where they ordered their smoothies. Jamie looked in horror at Christina's glass.
"What on earth is in that cup?" she asked, staring at the pinkish-orange concoction.
"It's one of Ernie's latest concoctions, a mango shake. It's not half bad. Want to try?" Christina offered the glass to Jamie.
"No. I think I'll stick to the cranberry spritzers and the lemon smoothies."
    "Poor, unadventurous soul."
"Chris, I get quite enough adventure with Daddy Dearest kidnapping me every other week, thank you very much! I don't need to risk my life on one of Ernie's wild mixing sprees."
"Suit yourself." Christina took a long swig from the glass then stood up. "Sorry to run off like this, but I promised Billy I'd meet him in the park. We're testing out some new routines for the benefit next month."
"You're teaching Billy to dance?" Jason asked.
"Yes, I am. He's good, too," Christina replied defensively. "I've gotta run. I'll see you later, Jamie."
    "Later."

In the park, Christina was running through the steps. "Okay, we start with the separate improv for five counts of eight, then two grapevines, eight counts of rock-touch, two spins, eight counts of sways, then the two kick turns," she told him, demonstrating. She executed the kick turn and found her foot caught in a solid grasp. Looking up, she found herself staring into Goldar's beady red eyes.
"Ah, White Ranger! This time, you won't foil Lord Zedd's plans!" Goldar bellowed.
"Um, I think not," Christina replied calmly. Using the leverage given by her raised leg, she flipped over, kicking Goldar in the head as she flipped. He let go of her foot and she landed neatly next to Billy.
"Putties! Attack!" Goldar cried. Christina found herself surrounded by putties and quickly separated from Billy.
"Get off me!" she exclaimed, trying to fight off the clay monsters.
"Christina!" Billy called. He tried to break through the circle of putties to reach Christina. Goldar pointed his sword at Billy, encasing him in a fiery force field. "No!" he exclaimed, watching as the putties closed in on Christina.
She was fighting a losing battle. For every putty she disabled, two more took its place. She had received several telling blows, breaking her nose and cracking her ribs. Her strength was waning. Falling to the ground, she weakly tried to deflect a blow to her head by throwing her arm in front of her face. She heard the limb snap like a dry twig. Her legs were trampled by the heavy putties, crushing them under the weight. Mercifully, she began to black out, but not before Goldar dealt her a severe blow to the head.
"Christina! Goldar! You're going to pay!" Billy screamed helplessly as he watched the carnage.
"Just try to save her now!" Goldar snarled, releasing the forcefield as he and the putties teleported out. Billy immediately ran to Christina's side. Her white shorts and leotard were stained a sickly crimson as her blood flowed from multiple wounds. Not heeding the blood, Billy scooped the battered and unconscious Christina gently into his arms and transported them both to the command center.

Jason and the others were sitting at the Juice Bar, joking around, when their communicators toned. "Christina's been hurt," Billy said without preamble. "Zordon wants everybody at the command center now." The teens found a deserted corner and transported out.
"Ohmigod!" Kimberly gasped when she saw Christina's battered form motionless in the stasis field.
    "What happened?" Tommy asked.
"We were attacked by Goldar and the putties in the park. I tried to help, but Goldar trapped me in a force field. I was forced to watch as they did...this to her," Billy spit out bitterly. "When he was finished, he looked at me...and laughed."
"Goldar was under my father's orders," Jamie said coldly, fingering her communicator. "Right now, I want to see him subjected to what he's putting Christina through." She tapped her communicator and disappeared.
"Jamie! Wait!" Jason called as she transported. "Great. Christina's hurt, Jamie's disappearing, what else can go wrong?"
"Power Rangers, I have news that does not bode well for Christina," Zordon intoned. "As you know, her powers cycle with the moon. This attack has occurred during the start of the low curve in her cycle. Her healing powers are only slightly above the normal human healing factor. If her powers were full, she would recover from this attack in one week's time. However, with her powers as low as they are now, it is doubtful as to whether she will be able to survive these injuries."
"What if we took her to Angel Grove General?" Zack asked hopefully.
"They would be able to do no more than what has already been done. Her fractures have been splinted and we are attempting to use a bone knitter on them. Her wounds have been dressed. However, due to a severe blow to her head, she is now comatose. Her wounds have not stopped bleeding and there is no sign of clotting. The stasis field around her is her only hope."
"Why would Zedd want to do this to Christina?" Trini asked.
"Christina can sense if Lord Zedd has cast a spell on someone, as well as break that spell. She has foiled his plans several times, most recently when he attempted to join Jamie and Goldar. He has sufficient reason to wish Christina destroyed. I would advise you all to use extreme caution, especially you, Tommy. Lord Zedd would not have taken these measures unless he was planning something."
"But what about these?" Kimberly held up her protector pendant. "Shouldn't they protect us from the spells?"
"Their power's running low. Christina planned to recharge them this weekend," Billy told her.
"Zordon, we'll be careful," Tommy said. "C'mon guys, we'd better be getting back."
"I'm not leaving Christina," Billy said, standing.
"Billy, you must leave. If a change in Christina's condition occurs, we shall inform you immediatly," Zordon told him.
"C'mon, man, it won't do any good just sitting around here," Zack urged him.
Reluctantly, Billy left with the others.

Jamie landed in a corridor of the stronghold. "Where's that thing who dares to call himself my dad?" she muttered. "I'm going to kill him, relative or not!" She rounded the corner and ran smack into Goldar.
"My lady!" he exclaimed, a look of confusion crossing his face. "What are you doing here?"
Jamie thought quick. "You ugly oaf!" she shrieked. She decided that it would be easiest if she just pretended to be evil. "Why aren't you bowing to your princess?"
Goldar stammered for a few moments before bowing. "That's better. Now, take me to my father!"
"Yes, my lady!" Goldar offered Jamie his arm and led her to the throne room. Very cautiously, Jamie began to absorb Goldar's energy. By the time they reached the throne room, she was fairly glowing with the energy surplus.
"My lord, your daughter wishes to see you," Goldar said as he backed out of the room.
"Jamie, why have you come here freely? Have you finally realized that this is the best side for you to join?" Lord Zedd asked, a note of hope in his voice.
"Not quite." Her face had a look of steely determination. "I came here to give you something." She was concentrating so hard on manipulating the excess energy that she didn't notice the putty creeping up behind her. Quickly, the putty snapped the cord of her pendant and scampered to a corner to play with it. "Hey! That's mine! Give it back, clay brain!" Jamie yelped. In that moment, she lost control of the energy. She screamed as it engulfed the putty in a scorching wave of heat.
"Now daughter, why do I get the feeling that this wasn't a social call?" Zedd asked. "Now that you've lost both the pendant and your borrowed energy, I can do this!" He threw the bottle at Jamie, who deflected it. The crystal bottle shattered, dousing Jamie in the iridescent liquid. It lifted into a mist and as it cleared, Jamie disappeared. Zedd settled into his throne. "Now, to let the potion work its magic," he mused.

Back in Angel Grove, Billy was pacing in his lab. Jason, Tommy and Zack were trying to calm him before he wore a rut in the concrete floor. "Billy, man, Christina's gonna be okay. Right now, we have to find out Zedd's plans. If we can do that, we'll have an edge and maybe we can stop him before Christina gets worse," Jason reasoned.
"Jase's right, Billy. We all care about Christina, but we can't help her by pacing. Jamie's off doing God knows what and Kim and Trini are at the park, investigating the area where you two were attacked. Maybe they'll find something there that can tell us why Christina's still bleeding. We need to find out anything we can about Zedd's plans," Tommy added.
"You need to help Christina the only way you can, Billy. Either get on that computer and analyze her blood, or create a new device, but do something," Zack told him.  "We're gonna see if Kimberly and Trini have found anything. You find something to do other than pace." They transported out.
"They're right," Billy said aloud. "I shouldn't just sit around. I'm going back to the command center. Maybe there's a clue in her blood chemistry."
Just then, he felt a weak telepathic touch. <<Billy,>> he heard.
    <<Christina?>>
<<I don't know how long I can contact you this way. Be careful. I picked up some of Goldar's thoughts. Tommy and Jamie...>> Christina's psychic voice died out.
<<Christina!>> Billy called out, but it was no use. The small amount of energy that enabled her to contact him had been expended. Billy tapped his communicator. "Zordon, come in."
    "Yes, Billy. What is it?"
"Zordon, Christina just contacted me psychically. She started to warn me about something, but her voice died before she could tell me what."
"I'll contact the other Rangers to come to the Command Center." Billy transported in. As soon as he arrived, he checked Christina's vital signs.
"Zordon, she's still bleeding! If it continues at this rate, she'll need a transfusion!" he exclaimed.
"Her bleeding is minimal, not enough to warrant a transfusion," Zordon informed him.
"Billy, what did Christina warn you about?" Trini asked as she and the others transported in.
"She said that she had caught some of Goldar's thoughts and she mentioned Tommy and Jamie. She mentally collapsed before she could finish the warning." Billy shrugged. "It's not much to go on, is it?"
Tommy groaned and punched a console. "He must be planning on going after us again. Can't he give us a break?" Tommy exclaimed, rubbing his bruised knuckles.
"I'd be willing to bet anything that when Jamie disappeared, she was planning to get revenge. She's probably up on the moon now, getting herself in trouble," Jason muttered.
At that instant, Jamie appeared in the back of the command center. "How's Christina doing?" she asked, concerned.
"Jamie! Thank God you're all right!" Jason exclaimed, hugging Jamie tightly.
"Jason, get off me!" Jamie exclaimed, squeezing out of his embrace.
"Jamie, Christina's condition is the same," Zordon told her.
Jamie stood behind Tommy to look at the readout console. He turned to let her see better and in passing, touched her shoulder. She placed her hand on his. Their eyes locked. No one noticed the iridescent spark that passed between them. The stasis field around Christina shimmered.

Billy was still at the command center late that night. He had several samples of Christina's blood prepared on slides, trying to find out why she wasn't clotting. "I don't understand it, Zordon. Her iron is good, her platelet count is high, all her readings are normal. She should have stopped bleeding hours ago!" Despite Zordon's assurances, Billy had argued enough that they had transported in a plasma bag which she was hooked up to now.
"Billy, there is only one test left to run," Alpha said, bringing out a strange machine. "This is an Eltaran biomolecular scanner. It might be able to find any anomalies in her blood."
"It's worth a try," Billy shrugged. He placed the last slide into the scanner. After a few minutes of clicking and whirring, readouts appeared on the console screen. "I can't believe this! Finally! Zordon, there was a type of blood-thinning anti-coagulant introduced to her bloodstream."
Zordon sighed. "I was afraid of this. Billy, I recognize that type of anti-coagulant. I am afraid that there is only one antidote. However, it is not common. The antidote is a powder made from the seeds of a plant known as the silver-leaved rosenbloom, the Rose of Light."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Transport me to where I can get some of this stuff!"
"It is not that easy, Billy. The silver leaved rosenbloom only grows in certain dimensional rifts, with climates far too harsh for humans to withstand. Also, there are only three plants in existence, and they only produce seeds every seven hundred years."
    "Then it's hopeless."
"Not completely," Alpha interjected. "Zordon, the scanners located one of the plants, at the seven hundred year mark." The robot stood to its full four-foot height. "Zordon, I could retrieve the seeds to make the powder."
"Alpha, would you, really?" Billy asked, the need clear in his eyes.
"Yes, Billy, I would. She's special to the team," Alpha replied.
"Alpha, the portal is keyed to the rift. Use all haste, as the rift is not stable," Zordon told the robot. Alpha stepped through the portal.
"Good luck," Billy whispered, watching the robot disappear.

"Hey, Tommy!" Kimberly called out. "Wait up!" She ran to catch up to him. "Where're you headed?"
"I promised Jamie I'd spar with her today. She's getting tired of sparring with Jason since she always bests him."
"Funny, I thought she liked that," Kimberly mused.
"Yeah, well, she wants a challenge today." Tommy kept walking, not looking at Kimberly.
    "Mind if I watch?"
"If you want to. I don't care." They reached the youth center where Jamie was waiting for Tommy.
"Hello, Tommy," Jamie said warmly. She saw Kimberly behind him. "Kimberly. You ready to spar, Tommy?"
"You bet," he replied. Kimberly headed for the tables to watch.
"What's she doing here?" Jamie asked Tommy in a low voice.
"She wanted to watch. There was nothing I could do about it," he replied in an equally low voice.
"Hmph. We'll just have to...get rid of her. Somehow."
They started to spar, attacking and blocking. The fight lasted much longer than her spars with Jason, and Jamie was actually bested twice.
"I needed this change," Jamie panted, getting up after her second fall. "Sparring with Jason was getting too predictable. It wasn't fun anymore."
Kimberly heard Jamie say that. Something struck her as being not right about this whole situation. Jamie loved sparring with Jason. She had once said that it was because it was predictable. Kimberly couldn't make heads or tails of this whole situation.
"Hey, Kim!" Ernie called out. "You've got a phone call!"
"Right there!" she called back. She cast one more glance at Tommy and Jamie, then left to get her call.
"Finally," Jamie breathed, watching Kimberly leave. "She's gone."
"Good," Tommy replied. Thoughts of sparring were forgotten as Jamie slid a hand across Tommy's chest to behind his neck. Their lips met in a heated kiss.
Just then, Jason came into the Juice Bar, searching for Jamie. He heard a collective murmur through the Juice Bar and looked to see what was causing it. What he saw shocked him.
"Jamie!" he exclaimed, running to pull her away from Tommy. He looked up at his best friend. "What's going on?" he demanded, keeping his temper in check--barely.
"Jason, it's over between us," Jamie said calmly, pulling her arm out of Jason's grasp. "I'm sorry, but I just don't think of you that way anymore."
"What? Just the other night, you were almost ready to elope! Now today, you're telling me you don't think of me that way?" Jason shook his head. "Zack, Trini and the rest of them were right. You are crazy. Blooming nuts. Enjoy your life, Jamie. Just try not to ruin too many other people's in the process." He then looked at Tommy. "Man, I thought I could trust you, Tommy. Now I see I can't. I just wish I could see what happens to you when you tell Kimberly about this. And Tommy? If you don't tell Kimberly, if you think you can get away with having Jamie on the side, you're wrong. If you don't tell Kim, I will." The look on Jason's face was the most serious he had ever worn.
"Go ahead, tell Kim. It'll save me from having to see her tears when I tell her it's over. I don't love her anymore. I'm not sure if I ever did," Tommy replied.
Jason just looked at his best friend and his now-ex-girlfriend. "I don't know what's gotten into you two. Neither of you used to be this cold, this unfeeling. I'll see you around." He left the juice bar, catching Kimberly as she was heading towards the crowd. "Kimberly, we need to talk."

Alpha landed in the dimensional rift. The sky shimmered through a spectrum of colors, reflected and refracted in the hazy atmosphere. "Ayeyiyi, such a beautiful place," Alpha sighed. "Where's the plant?" Looking around, he spotted the broad leaves of the rosenbloom. "Ah, there it is. All silver and pink and green, just like the picture." Alpha filled his collection bag with as many of the seed pods as he could find. When the bag was filled, he stepped back through the portal. "Here, Billy, Zordon. I hope this is enough," Alpha said as he handed the bag to Billy.
"Billy, the seeds must be crushed to a fine powder and then applied to Christina's wounds. The rosenbloom has strong powers of Light that will not only heal her wounds, but they may enhance her Light powers as well."
When the powder was ready, Zordon lowered the stasis field around Christina. Billy gently applied the powder to Christina's wounds and was amazed to see the bleeding stop instantly. He applied more of the silvery dust to her fractures. The powder seeped through her skin to the bone, knitting it tight. Christina's healing powers, even low as they were, began to react with the Rose of Light's powers. She began to glow, brightly, as her body lifted off the table. The glow was so strong that Billy had to shield his eyes. Suddenly, there was an explosion of light.
When Billy's vision had cleared, he saw Christina standing under her own power, a faint aura of light still visible around her. "Christina! Are you all right?" he asked.
Christina rushed into his arms. "I'm fine, now. Thank you, Billy, Alpha."
"Christina," Zordon interrupted. "The rosenbloom powder seems to have done more than just heal you. The readings are coming in now." A printout slid from one of the consoles. Billy caught it before it could hit the floor.
"Amazing," he breathed, reading the contents. "It seems that your natural powers have been enhanced beyond belief!"
"Christina, your new powers will take some getting used to. Also, it is not certain as to their duration. Use them wisely and sparingly," Zordon advised her.
    "I will, Zordon."

"You know," Jamie said to Tommy, "there's no real reason we have to stick around here. Jason and Kimberly are going to be upset. I think we should go somewhere else."
    "Where?"
"Well, if we returned to the Dark, our powers would be much stronger. Because of my heredity, I only have the full spectrum of my natural powers when I'm with my father."
"And my powers were originally evil, too, so Zedd could restore them to their former state. I wouldn't have to rely on Christina all the time to recharge me." Tommy's way of thinking had been twisted by the dark love spell. "If we returned to the Dark, we'd be stronger than all the other Rangers combined!"
"What do you say? Do we go pay my father a visit?"
"Let's go!" They hit their communicators and transported to the moon.
"Daughter!" Zedd exclaimed. "What a surprise to see you here."
"Father, Tommy and I have decided to join the Dark," Jamie told him. "We want all our power."
"Take this." Zedd held out his hand and a golden circlet appeared above it. "This will channel the Dark to you, my daughter." Jamie placed the circlet on her head and felt the raw Dark power coursing through her. "Green Ranger, receive your full powers through the Dark." A cloud of Dark power enveloped Tommy, settling into the core of his being. He removed his pendant and placed it on a nearby table. "Now that you are fully powered, both of you, I can tell you of a way to increase your powers even more!"
Jamie looked at her father, the hunger for power glistening in her eyes. "What is it?"
"If the two of you joined in the traditional Zarakin way, your powers would combine and you would be able to call on the other's powers when in battle."
Jamie and Tommy looked at each other. The Dark love spell, along with their added Dark powers, increased their desire for power and togetherness.
"We agree to the joining, Zedd," Tommy spoke.
"Then it shall be done! Tonight at midnight, during the Dark of the moon, you two shall be joined, combining your powers in alliance to the Dark!"

Christina's eyes shot open. She had been meditating to control her new powers when she sensed something terribly wrong.
"What's up?" Billy asked, noticing Christina's distress.
"There's something wrong with the Morphin Grid. It's almost like a concentration of Light power curdled and became Dark." She closed her eyes again. "I'm going to check it out. Keep an eye out for trouble." Christina concentrated and sent her essence to the stronghold.
She could feel the Dark pressing around her like a vice. Using her newly fine-tuned senses, she searched for what was causing the disturbance. When she realized what it was, it shocked her so much that her spirit snapped back into her body.
"Billy, we have major trouble," Christina whispered, squeezing his hand.
"What is it? What caused the disturbance?"
"We have to contact the others and get to the command center. We're in for some trouble."

"Tommy and Jamie joined up with Zedd?" Jason asked incredulously.
"Yes, and apparently they're going to be joined to each other at midnight," Christina informed them.
"Joined to each other? Like siamese twins or something?" Kimberly asked.
"In human terms, they're getting married." Christina looked more serious than she had in her entire life.
"We have to stop it!" Jason exclaimed, hitting his hands together.
"Jason, tonight's the new moon. The Dark is at its strongest point now. Jamie has the full capacity of her inherited powers and could probably disintegrate anyone who came in her way just by looking at them. Tommy's Dark powers are stronger than they ever were with Rita. There's no way we can just walk in and stop the wedding like we did at Goldar's," Christina explained.
"I don't know about all of you, but there's no way I'm just gonna sit and accept the fact that Tommy's evil again," Kimberly groused. "We have to do something."
"The only chance we have is to separate Tommy and Jamie. Maybe then we can break whatever hold Zedd may have on them," Christina tolds them.
"Then let's do it!" Jason reached for his morpher but Christina stopped him.
"No, Jason. We can't just rush in there. We have to have a plan." Christina turned to Trini. "We need to work on this non-stop. The Dark gets stronger the closer it gets to midnight."

It was half an hour to midnight. In the stronghold, Jamie was humming tunelessly as she dressed for the ceremony. Even under the spell, her tastes were practical: an off-white silk pantsuit and leather ankle boots were what she had chosen to wear. She ran a soft cloth over the gold circlet to enhance its shine.
Tommy was in another room, also dressing. He had chosen a dark green militaristic suit trimmed with gold cording and gold buttons down the front of the jacket. His hair was held back with a leather thong. Every so often, he'd glance at the clock on the wall, anxious for midnight to arrive.
The mood wasn't so light in the command center. The six had been trying to figure out how to rescue Jamie and Tommy for hours and still didn't have a feasible plan. "It's almost midnight!" Christina exclaimed. "We can't wait any longer. With or without a plan, we have to go up there and get them."
"Finally!" Jason exclaimed. "It's morphin time!" They all transformed and transported to the moon. In a blaze of light, they appeared in a deserted corridor.
"Guess they're not expecting us," Black Ranger said, looking around. "So, where d'ya think Zedd'd hold a wedding?"
"The throne room again?" Yellow Ranger suggested.
"It wouldn't hurt to try," White Ranger replied. "Let's go."
At that time, the ceremony was starting. Tommy and Jamie joined hands.
The Rangers raced through the corridors and came to a barred door, guarded by Goldar. "Ah, Power Rangers," he growled. "You are not allowed in here. The lady and the Green Ranger are in the middle of the joining ceremony."
"We're not going to stand around and let this happen!" Red Ranger exclaimed. "And if you think we will, you've taken too many hits to the head! Power Sword!" He pulled out his sword.
Goldar took a step back. "Uhh, Rangers, this time I will help you. I'm not that eager for the Lady Jamie to become my queen." Goldar lifted the bar from the door.
The Rangers rushed into the room and stopped dead in their tracks. Jamie and Tommy finished their kiss, turning to face the Rangers. "You're too late, Rangers," Tommy sneered. "Now that we're joined, nothing will stop us from conquering Earth!"
"No!" Pink Ranger screamed, flying into Jamie, knocking her to the ground. White Ranger separated them, transporting herself and Jamie to Earth.
"What do you think you're doing?" Jamie hissed.
"Trying to stop you from doing anything else you'll regret!" White Ranger snapped back.
"You can't stop me from doing anything!" A shimmer passed across the circlet and Jamie transformed into the Purple Ranger. "You'll have to catch me first!" With a leap, she took off into the air.
"Jamie, let me help you!" White Ranger pleaded, taking off after Jamie. "You're under Zedd's control!"
"Never!" Purple Ranger threw several red energy bolts at White Ranger, who managed to deflect them. She sighed and kept after Purple Ranger.
Back in the throne room, Red Ranger and Green Ranger were fighting. Neither one had a clear advantage. Red Ranger was fighting from his jealousy and rage. Green Ranger was fighting to stay alive.
White Ranger caught up to Purple Ranger. "Jamie, you don't know what you're doing!" She yanked off her gloves. "Forgive me for this," she whispered, yanking off Jamie's helmet. White Ranger put her hands on Jamie's head and shot enough energy through her to knock her unconscious. She then tried to break the spell. Part of a red mist faded from Jamie's body but there was still energy there that wasn't Jamie's. "It's a love spell...."

Red Ranger was about to call on his Power Sword again when White Ranger appeared, a limp Jamie over her shoulder. White Ranger yanked off Tommy's helmet and broke the Dark hold on him. "Jason, Kimberly!" she called out as he crumpled to the floor. "They're under a love spell. I can't break it! You two are going to have to break it."
"You'll never break this spell!" Zedd exclaimed. "It's the strongest in the universe!"
Kimberly looked at Tommy. "Christina, if you can't break this spell, how are we supposed to?"
"Remember your fairy tales," Trini suggested.
"Couldn't hurt to give it a try!" Zack agreed.
Kimberly and Jason looked at each other. "Zack's right, it can't hurt," Jason said. He knelt beside Jamie and slowly touched his lips to hers. The spell energy lifted off her in a red haze, dissipating in the air. Her eyes slowly opened and she looked at Jason, then at the assembled Rangers.
"Please tell me that all of this is just a bad dream, Jason," she groaned, holding on to him tightly.
Kimberly took that as her cue. She knelt beside the fallen Tommy and kissed him. The spell energy left him as well. The first thing he did when he came to was apologize. "Kim, Jason, I'm really sorry about all this," he said, holding Kimberly. "Let's get out of here." The eight transported out while Zedd fumed.

"Tommy, Jamie, it is good to have you back on the side of Light," Zordon intoned.  "However, since the ceremony was carried out to the end, the two of you are still joined."
Jamie looked at Tommy. "Uh, no offense, but I want a divorce."
"None taken." Tommy looked at Zordon. "So, how do we do this?"
"Remove your rings. Jamie, remove the circlet that Lord Zedd gave you. Now, these items must be destroyed." Jamie and Tommy poined their Blade Blasters at the small pile and disintegrated it.
"It's good to be back," Tommy said, wrapping his arms around Kimberly.

A week later, Christina, Billy and Zack were sitting in the juice bar. Jason and Jamie had left for a walk half an hour ago and hadn't returned yet. "I'm worried about them, guys. Do you think they're okay?" Christina asked.
"I'm sure they're fine. These kind of walks take time," Zack grinned. There was a strangled sound from Billy as he choked on the carrot juice he was about to swallow.
"Billy? Are you okay?" Christina asked. "Zack, what are you talking about?" Her eyes widened as she realized what Zack was implying. "You don't think..."
Just then, Jason and Jamie walked in. Jamie had a smug little smile on her face and both of them looked a little disheveled. Billy took one look at them and started to choke again. Christina turned a faint shade of red. They stammered an apology and left.
"Man, you wouldn't believe how windy it is out there," Jason told Zack. "I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd ended up in Kansas!"
"Wonder why Chris and Billy left so quickly?" Jamie added on.
Zack, surpressing his laughter, said "I don't know, but I've got to run. Hot date. See ya."
Jamie and Jason both sat at the juice bar. "Did you mean what you said earlier?" Jamie asked Jason.
"About it being windy out?" He smiled at Jamie.
"No, earlier, before we came in."
"Oh, about how much I love you?" Jamie nodded. "Of course I meant it."
"Thought so." Jamie looked into the glass of cranberry juice Ernie brought over. "I feel the same way."
