At the command center, Zordon was congratulating the Power Rangers on
their victory. "Power Rangers, your quick thinking has once again
saved Angel Grove. Tommy, your idea, and Jamie, your talent were what clinched
the battle. Lord Zedd's powers will be low for a while. He expended much
to create Brainiacoral."
"You mean, we're going to have a vacation for a while?" Tommy
asked.
"In a way, yes. You may all return to Angel Grove."
"I'm glad you've gotten a new pendant," Jason told Jamie as
they walked through the park.
"So'm I. I really don't want to be turned against you guys again.
That stronghold gave me the creeps." They walked in silence for a
while, enjoying the warm fall day.
Jason broke the silence. "Jamie,
do you remember the day that Christina first gave us the pendants?"
"Yes. Why?"
"I don't regret kissing you. I never regretted kissing you."
Jamie looked at Jason. "I don't regret it, either," she whispered.
Their eyes locked, and as their lips met, they were unaware that an unseen
presence was watching them.
"I can not believe that my daughter actually likes such repulsive
goodness!" Zedd roared. "It is out of my hands for now, but later,
Jamie dear, you will find yourself with a new beau!"
All the Rangers were at a dance at the youth center. Jason and Jamie
were officially a couple, and Billy and Christina stayed close to each
other. However, Jamie had her second encounter with Bulk and Skull. "What
on Earth are you two trying to do?" she asked them, trying hard not
to laugh. Skull had on his head a contraption that looked suspiciously
like a colander equipped with wires and blinking Christmas lights.
"For your information, we are trying to discover the identities of
the Power Rangers," Bulk told her snidely.
"Don't you think about anything else?"
"Why?" At that answer, Jamie just shrugged and walked back to
the group.
"What was all that about?" Jason asked her, slipping an arm around
her waist.
"Oh, the usual spiel, trying to find the identity of the Power Rangers,"
Jamie shrugged. A slow song came on, and Richie came over to the group.
"Uh, Trini, would you like to dance?" he asked her.
"Sure." They went onto the dance floor, followed by Tommy and
Kimberly, Billy and Christina, Zack and Angela, and finally, Jason and
Jamie.
"I'm really glad you came tonight," Jason told her.
"I'm glad I came, too. This is the only normal thing to happen to
me since I moved to Angel Grove."
"Are you sorry?"
"About what?"
"Becoming a Power Ranger. Your life will never be normal again."
"It wasn't all that normal before I moved here, so, no, I'm not sorry
about becoming a Power Ranger. I finally met my father, repulsive as he
may be, and I gained a boyfriend. No, I'll never regret accepting the offer."
Across the dance floor, Billy and Christina were talking. "Billy,
when Jamie took some of my power the other day, I felt something. There's
more to her than what we see, I know it," Christina told him.
"Is
she still under a spell?"
"No, it wasn't anything malevolent, it was more like...underlying,
or hidden. I don't think it's intentionally hidden, but it could be something
undiscovered."
"Hmm. Well, tell Zordon about it. Maybe he can discover what it is."
"I hope so. I just have this feeling that it may be important to the
safety of this world."
On another section of dance floor, Kimberly was saying to Tommy, "I'm
really glad you've got your powers back."
"So'm I, Kim. I would have hated having to give up being a Power Ranger."
"We all would have missed you. If Christina hadn't run into Billy
that day, then we would have lost you."
"You never would have lost me, Kim, even if my powers did disappear."
He leaned down and gently kissed her.
