In Angel Grove, Billy was trying to determine Brainiacoral's weak spot,
while Christina was collecting her power residue and transferring it to
another pendant for Jamie. "Have you found anything, Billy?"
Christina asked, looking up from her work.
"I may have. I found an article on coral reefs that are being destroyed
off the coast of Florida. It would seem that chlorine and fresh water kill
off coral, as well as oil spills."
"What about spraying it with fresh water, or luring it to the Municipal
Pool?"
"Christina, that's brilliant! The Municipal Pool has enough chlorine
in the water to bleach totally black swimsuits. If we can get Brainiacoral
to the pool, it can be destroyed!" Billy's communicator toned. "What
is it, Zordon?"
"Jason has broken the spell on Jamie, and has returned to the command
center. You and Christina must come at once."
"We'll be right there." Billy turned to Christina. "Are
you ready?"
"As I'll ever be." She grabbed the new pendant, and they transported.
When Christina saw Jamie, she immediately took Jamie's hand. Finding no
spell, she handed Jamie the new pendant. "This one's much stronger
than before," she told Jamie.
Jamie put the pendant on, and called, "Invoke!" It glowed, and
they knew it was working. "I won't let Zedd break this one."
"Zordon, Christina came up with a way to defeat Brainiacoral,"
Billy told the being.
"I couldn't have done it if Billy hadn't mentioned that chlorine kills
living coral reefs," Christina said modestly. "I just suggested
luring it to the Municipal Pool."
"Christina, you and Billy have come up with a good plan. Alert the
others, and meet us at the pool. Zordon, where's Brainiacoral now?"
Jason asked.
"It is at the public beach. Brainiacoral must recharge by soaking
in ocean water every twenty-four hours," Zordon explained.
"So, if we can stop it from getting to the ocean, it'll be weak?"
Jason asked.
"That is correct."
"Jamie, are you up for some fighting?"
"Always!" she replied. "It's morphin time!"
Red Ranger and Purple Ranger ran onto the beach. Brainiacoral was nowhere
in sight. "Are we too late?" Purple Ranger asked.
"No! Look over there!" Brainiacoral was running towards the water.
"We have to stop it!"
"Ah, salt water! The oceans of a thousand worlds are reflected in a
single drop!" Brainiacoral was saying.
"Not so fast!" Purple Ranger called.
"By the pricking of my thumbs, some puny Power Rangers this way come!"
"I don't know about you, but I'm getting sick of his paraphrasing,"
Purple Ranger sighed. "I'm going to tap; see if you can get him away
from the water."
"Will do," Red Ranger agreed. Purple Ranger shimmered, and disappeared.
<<Jason!>> he felt Christina call. <<We're
all at the pool. See if Jamie can transport him here.>>
<<I'm working on it, but I can't guarantee anything,>>
Purple Ranger sent. Apparently Christina had linked their three minds.
"Hey, fish-brain! Want to go for a swim?" Purple Ranger's voice
echoed off the cliffs.
"Ah, my kingdom for a swim!" Brainiacoral cried in response.
"Well, you're in the wrong place!" She materialized behind it,
and sent it through a swirling vortex to the Municipal Pool.
"All right, Jamie!" Red Ranger congratulated her. "Let's
finish off this fish-face!" They transported to the pool, where the
others met them.
"How are we going to get it into the pool? Nothing budges it,"
Pink Ranger asked.
"Hey, Jamie, would the vortex work to transport it?" Green Ranger
asked.
"I never thought of that. I'm gonna try it." Purple Ranger looked
around. "I used a lot of power. Does anyone see a power line?"
"Jamie, my power never runs out. Use some of mine," White Ranger
offered, taking off her gloves. Purple Ranger removed her gloves, and took
White Ranger's hand. When she had absorbed enough energy to create the
vortex, they put their gloves back on.
"Let's teach this coral a lesson in swimming!" Purple Ranger
called.
"Right!" the other seven chorused.
"What is this? This will not work!" Brainiacoral screamed. "The
water is wrong!"
"The water may be wrong, but it's just right for us!" Purple
Ranger extended her hands, and opened a vortex that led to the bottom of
the deep end of the pool. "Jump on in, the water's fine!" She
sent Brainiacoral through the vortex to the bottom of the pool.
"Nooo!" it screamed. The water fizzed and boiled. Soon, all that
was left of the Brainiacoral was the original lump of coral.
"I'm glad that's over," Purple Ranger said.
"You can say that again," White Ranger commented.
"I'm glad that's over!"
"Jamie!!"
