In Lord Zedd's stronghold, Jamie was trapped in a force field. "What
do you want with me?" she demanded.
"I want you to be my spy, daughter," Lord Zedd stated, stepping
out of the shadows.
"What?!?"
"I have you under my power, daughter. You shall do my bidding now!"
"Why the hell do you keep calling me daughter?"
"I am your father, Jamie."
"You're wrong. My father died twelve years ago. He was a kind
and gentle man. You are not my father!" Inside, she kept
thinking, There's no way...this is right out of Star Wars...just call
me Luke Skywalker, folks...
"I was banished to Earth twenty years ago in the form of a human.
I met your mother, Leslie, after wandering the planet for three years.
You were born a year later. When you were four, my compatriots came, and
rescued me from that odious pit. You and your mother were the only joy
in my life. Now, daughter, I have all my power, and shall conquer Earth!
You and your mother shall reign by my side."
"No! I can't! Augh!" A bolt of light came from Zedd's staff
and coursed through Jamie's body. Her eyes took on a red glow.
"I am sorry, daughter. I had so hoped you would cooperate. Now, go
and find the Power Rangers!" He transported her back to the youth
center. Jason and Christina ran up to her.
"What happened in the command center, Jamie?" Jason asked, touching
her arm.
"I...I don't know," she whispered. Christina looked at Jamie
through narrowed eyes. Something was strange here; she couldn't quite put
her finger on it.
"I don't know what happened, Billy. She just...vanished! When she
came back, something was different," Christina told him. They were
in his lab, working on creating a psychic amplifier to increase her powers
during the low spots in her cycle.
"Does Zordon know what happened?" he asked her.
"No. It was the first time I saw Zordon speechless. When she reappeared,
she had no idea what had happened to her."
"Do you think Lord Zedd may be involved? He tried to take you
over; maybe he's controlling Jamie."
"Maybe. If I can get close enough to her, I could get a reading,
see if she's under a spell. If she is, I can break it, and set up a Circle
of Protection."
"We should try. If she is under Lord Zedd's influence, who knows
what
would ensue! Here, the amplifier is done."
"Thanks, Billy." She leaned over and kissed him. "Now, we've
got to warn Jason, and check Jamie for spells." They transported out.
"Jamie!" Christina called. "Wait up!" She ran over
to where Jamie and Jason were walking, with Billy right behind her.
"Hey, guys, what's up?" Jason asked.
"We think we might know what happened to Jamie earlier," Christina
told them.
"Oh?" Jamie asked.
"We think you may have been captured by Lord Zedd."
Jamie's eyes flashed red. "I was, and now you all must pay! The Red
Ranger will now be taken as an offering to my father, the Almighty Lord
Zedd! I will return for you next, White Ranger!" Jamie grabbed Jason
and disappeared in a flash of violet-red light.
"Christina, you have to leave. You heard what she said!" Billy
worried.
"Billy, she is under a spell! I can break it. I have to break it!
The Power Rangers need her."
"I understand. Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Go alert the others that we'll need their help to rescue Jason after
I break Zedd's hold on Jamie."
"Be careful, Christina."
Billy kissed her and transported to alert the others.
In Lord Zedd's stronghold, Jason was trapped in an energy field. "Well,
Red Ranger, how does it feel to be on the losing end for a change?"
Lord Zedd asked.
"Uhhh," was all Jason could muster.
"It must have been a disappointment, finding yourself betrayed. Now,
all of the Power Rangers shall be mine! Jamie, my daughter, will see to
that!" Jason painfully raised his head to look at Jamie. Her eyes
showed the red glint of Zedd's power.
"Now, daughter, go and bring
the White Ranger to me!"
"Yes, father, right away!" She
teleported out. Christina was waiting for her. She had turned on her psychic
amplifier and was ready. "White Ranger, will you agree to serve Lord
Zedd?" Jamie called out.
"Never!"
"Then you must be taken!" Jamie rushed at Christina. Christina
caught Jamie's bare hand and held tight. Slowly, a red shell broke away
from Jamie.
She collapsed and Christina called out, "Circle of Protection - Jamie!"
The electric crackle was in the air. "Billy! She's free! Get everyone
together, and we'll rescue Jason. I'm transporting Jamie to the command
center," Christina spoke into her communicator, too flustered to send
mentally.
"We're one step ahead of you. Morph and get here quickly," he
replied.
"Tigerzord!" she called out, and transported herself and Jamie
to the command center.
"What happened?" Tommy asked.
"This is Jamie. Zordon tapped her to be the Purple Ranger, but Zedd captured
her. She's his daughter. He put her under a spell and she kidnapped Jason.
I broke the spell and invoked a Circle around her. Jason's probably in
Zedd's stronghold," Christina explained.
"Zedd has a daughter?" Trini asked.
"Yes. He was banished to Earth many years ago. Jamie was the result,"
Zordon informed them.
"And she was going to be the new Ranger?"
Tommy asked.
"Yes. She can harness immense powers."
"But she's Zedd's daughter! She'll betray us!" Kimberly
argued.
"When she captured Jason, she was under Zedd's control. I broke
her spell. She's under her own control now," Christina explained.
Jamie started to stir.
"Where am I?" she asked.
"You're back in the command center,"
Christina told her gently.
"Jason! Oh, no!" Jamie sat up. "We've got to help him! That
creature wants to drain his powers and use him as a decoy!"
"Do you know how to get to Zedd's stronghold?" Christina asked
her.
"Yes, I can take you there. How are you going to free him? He's trapped
in an energy field."
"Christina, this is the high point in your
cycle. You can use a blast to free Jason. Then, you can call up a Circle
of Protection, and get him out of there," Tommy said.
"You guys, do you mind if Jamie and I go alone? I know we're a team,
but there's a better chance if there's less of us," Christina ventured.
"I agree. Lord Zedd has many guards, and the fewer, the better,"
Zordon said.
"Jamie, if we get Jason back, we're definitely going to need the Purple
Ranger to defeat Lord Zedd. Will you fight against your father?" Christina
asked her.
"Yes. I feel so bad about betraying Jason. I hope this makes it up
to him. Are you ready?"
"Yes. Back to action!"
